21st Century Tennis CourtsMy local tennis courts are always full. Normally you have to wait a while before a court is free. So a lot of frustration follows, which consists of a lot of muttering under one's breath. Due to council funds being limited, a solution could entail: Including a keypad before the gate, where residents will have to key in their phone number and their password, before they are allowed to enter. Residents will have the option of having 3 hours allocated to them a month. If they would like more hours allocated, then they must pay for the extra hours. With the keypads, the tennis courts are now secured, which means that tennis rackets and tennis balls can be provided free of charge. If there is any damage to courts or equipment, council will be able to find out the culprit by checking their database (keypad). And we have now included a new revenue stream for the council, which can go towards the maintenance costs of the courts. |
